My Fashion Parade – موكب الأزياء

متل ما دائماً بحكي، من جيل صغير كنت أحب القطع المميزة في الملابس. صح دائماً بتابع صرعات الموضة والستايل الجديد في ساحات عالم الأزياء وبحب أجرب الترندز الجديدة، ولكن اعز القطع ع قلبي هي القطع اللي في من وراها تاريخ، او قصة، او ميزة خاصة اللي موجودة فيها. وهاد واحد من الأسباب اللي بتخليني احب قطع الفينتاج, واللي حكيت عنها في هاد البوست. اذا كنت مجبورة اوصف اسلوبي في الأزياء, بالتأكيد كنت بقول انه شخصي وانتقائي, وبحبش التقليد. يا بتكون كيميا من اول لحظة يا ما بتكون (اه انتبهت اني بحكي عن الملابس متل ما بحكي عن الحبيب). ومين قال انه لازم تحصري نفسك لأسلوب محدد؟ ممكن يوم يجي عبالك أسلوب ميمناليست (خطوط والوان وتفاصيل نظيفة)، يوم لوك رومانسي (اللي بتميز بالاقمشة المخرمة والناعمة، قصات انسيابية تبرز الانوثة)، يوم اسلوب كلاسيكي، يوم روك اند رول، بوهو، غرانج، اوربان، اكمل؟ وبتعرفي شو، ممكن كلها تكون انتي، وممكن تخلطي عدة اساليب مع بعض. عبري عن نفسك وكوني فخورة في ازيائك، امشي وكانك الملكة والاهم، كوني انتي ومش حدا تاني.

وهلآ بعد كل هالدراما اللي كتبتها فوق، اجا الوقت نحكي عن ملك اللوك في هاد البوست، وهو جاكيت موكب اوڤربروك اللي شريته من محل الفينتاج اوبسسيا (رابط في اسفل البوست)، ماظنش في حاجة اقول ليه الجاكيت عجبني، وكان واضح انه نوع من الزي، ممكن يكون عسكري (اللوك العسكري كان من ابرز الصرعات لشتاء ٢٠١٦-٢٠١٧)، بعدين شفت انه مكتوب عليه من جوا “parade leader” ، يعني قائدة او قائد الموكب، يعني بس كان ناقص يكون مكتوب عليه ياسمين! لما روحت عالبيت دورت على موكب اوڤربروك في الانترنت، ولقيت انها بلد في كانزاس، الولايات المتحدة، بتعمل موكب كل سنة, لسة ما فهمت مغزى الموكب بالزبط بس شفت انه مليان ثقافة والوان وشو (show) واحد كبير. وفجآة، لما لبست الجاكيت، صرت جزء من هاد الشو، قائدة الموكب، وتجاوزت المحيط ومزجت حضارات بقطعة ملابس واحدة. شفتوا شو حلو؟

وهلآ قوليلي، عندك اسلوب محدد؟ وكيف انتي بتوصفي اسلوبك..؟

I’m always going on and on and on about how important it is for me to wear unique items (deal with it), it is true that I do like to wear trends and to watch them evolve and transform in the world of fashion, but the items I like the most are the ones that tell a story, a history or have unique details. This is one of the reasons I like vintage clothing (the rest are listed in this post). If I really had to describe my style, I would definitely choose the words “eclectic” and “personal”, I don’t like to copy from other people. Either there’s a chemistry or there isn’t (Yes, I noticed that I’m talking about fashion as it was a lover, maybe it is). But who said that you have limit yourself into only one style? One day you can feel like being minimalist, the next day you may feel more romantic, classic, edgy, urban, gothic, grunge, boho, should I continue? and you know what? you can be all of these, or have aspects of them in your personality. Hell you can even combine the styles. Just express yourself and be proud of your fashion, walk like a queen and most importantly, be YOU and nobody else.

Now that I’m done with the drama, it’s time to talk about the king of this look: The overbook parade jacket which I purchased from a vintage store (link in the bottom of the page). I don’t think I need to explain why I loved it so much, but also it was obviously some kind of a uniform, possibly military (military look was the strongest trend in AW 2016/2017, but that doesn’t change anything). When I took it off the hanger I found the words “Parade Leader” on the label from the inside of the jacket, Ok dear jacket you don’t have to promote yourself any further, you got me! When I went home I googled Overbrook, which is a town in Kansas, USA, and found out that they have a parade each year. I’m still not sure what this parade is about, but I liked the colors and the show I found about it. Suddenly, when I wore this jacket, I became a part of this show, the leader of the parade if I may say, I crossed the ocean and mixed the cultures, with only one piece of clothing. Is that cool or what? My fashion makes me proud, and this is my fashion parade.
